Modules need a lot of additional storage places
What happens, if one is working at an operation session, and there is no place to store car cards, conductor boards, FREDs?
How many, and what kind of storage space is needed?
When I experienced the impact of storage room, my module "Chatteris" was fully functional, but missed the storage equipment. To have a look what works best, I went to some FREMO meetings and benchmarked:
Oliver went to a furniture store to build his basis of Fremont Branch module. While others are using legs to support their modules, Oliver got a rack.
Operating on this module always was great pleasure for me. And one aspect supporting my enjoyment was that I always found enough places to store and sort my Car Cards, Conductor Board, pen, ...
Clausen Storage got only two spots. Nevertheless: nearly all the front of the module is occupied by storage racks.
At the FREMO meeting Naumburg 2008 there was this staging yard with transfer table. All storage racks were mounted vertically.

Stephan and Elmar did a great job with Rocky Point. At the time I took this photo, Stephan was optimizing his storage racks.
As you can see here, the conductor put his conductor board onto the rack for the FREDs. But: this rack is too short for the board. Therefore, the board is lying in the pretty landscape. At least a little bit.
By the way: I often have seen that operating people who do not find a place to store their conductor boards, car cards, pens, radios, etc. put their equipment onto the layout. This happens if there is no place to put the equipment, or if these places are already occupied.
This is the first session with Manfred's new Yard Extension. The design of the yard is perfect, it fulfilled all expectations. They even had a waiting list for the yardmaster.
The photo shows: to sort the cars and the car cards, one needs a lot of space. The racks at the module were not large enough. Car cards are sorted on the layout.
A lot of tables and chairs are needed. At the moment of the photo, the loconet was set up. Afterwards, these tables were needed as crew lounge.

By the way: I would like to add some photos, and I am glad if you mail your examples of good practice
